Gulf County Health Department awarded accreditation from the Joint Comission! - Port St. Joe, March, 2008 - By demonstrating compliance with The Joint Commission's national standards for health care quality and safety, Gulf County Health Department has earned the Joint Commission's Gold Seal of Approval.

Construction of our new branch office in Wewahitchka has finished! - Dr. Luis Vasquez-Alvarado has been established as the medical director over the site. This will be a new adventure: having a full time clinician for Wewahitchka from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day. He has been an excellent addition to our staff and community, and will provide an opportunity in Wewahitchka to provide full public health services under with a full time medical health care provider onsite. Dental also will see changes as Dr. Tonya Pollard has chosen to move toward a new facet in her life outside of Gulf County and we welcome Dr. Laurie Housworth, DDS to our new facility.
